Edgardo Guzmán Maldonado : Ingenio, Toa Baja

While delivering relief aid in Toa Baja, I approached the house of Don Edgardo and his wife, who were seated outside in their driveway.  Don Edgardo noticed the graphic on my T-shirt featuring two machetes, smiled and proudly referred to me as a "Machetero." He also shared that his father was a Puerto Rican Nationalist alongside Pedro Albizu Campos. Following this exchange, he graciously invited me into his home.

Inside, Don Edgardo recounted stories and generously gifted me some old Salsa cassette tapes. On a window ledge, I noticed a stack of photographs that had clearly suffered water damage and subsequently dried together. Curious of their fate, I brought them to Don Edgardo's attention and inquired about his plans for them. Initially intending to discard the photographs, Don Edgardo agreed to let me have them instead.
