Antar : La Perla, San Juan

I was given this toy dinosaur by a 9-year-old named Antar from La Perla. It held special significance for him as his favorite toy. In September 2017, as Hurricane Irma approached Puerto Rico, Antar placed his cherished toy outside his front door as a symbolic protector for himself and his mother. Fortunately, their home remained unharmed after the storm, and both Antar and his mother were safe.

When Antar went to retrieve his toy after the storm, it was no longer where he had left it. Despite its absence, Antar believed that the dinosaur had fulfilled its role in safeguarding them. A week later, Hurricane Maria struck parts of La Perla, causing devastation. However, once again, Antar's home remained intact, and he and his mother emerged unscathed.

The morning after Hurricane Maria passed, Antar ventured outside and discovered his beloved toy dinosaur across the street, where he had initially placed it to protect their home. This occurrence reinforced Antar's belief that the dinosaur had indeed been a guardian, patiently waiting to return after sensing the impending danger of Hurricane Maria.
